Abstract:
Six cases of unilateral or bilateral choanal atresia are presented, treated by a trans-palatina approach. The acivantages anel disadvantages of this approach are discussed anel compareci to an endonasal access. The importance of an inert endonasal tube is emphasized, anel a new methoel for its molding anel fixation to the cartilaginous septum that reduces complication rates is presenteei. Post-operativa care is stressed, with local cleansing, aspiration anel topical steroids vised to reduce the atnount of granulation tissue.
