Abstract:
Adenoid cystic carcinoma of the head and neck is relatively rare and is characterized by slow evolution, multiple recurrences, protracted clinical course and late distant metastasis. When localize in the paranasal sinuses arise in the minor salivary glands. Surgery combined with postoperative radiotherapy could yield better local control. The authors present four cases of adenoid cystic carcinoma of the perinasal sinuses, treated in the Department of Radiotherapy from the Instituto Português de Oncologia - Centro do Porto. A brief review of the literature is also performed.
