Abstract:
The autoors present a case of lingual thyroid treated in a conservative way, with a one-year follow-up without other troubles to the patient. They review the literature on the subjeçt emphasizing the diagnosis and management of the disease. Now a days the malignization rate of this ectopic tissue is considered similar to that of the normal thyroid.
