Functional audiological results in open mastoids cavities.

Abstract:
The authors studied 100 sucessive patients, who had been undergone a Radical Mastoidectomy. This study was undertaken to compare the audiograms before and after the surgery, correlating the data with the age and sex from the patients. It was observed that 75% of the cases had no change, or had improvement of the hearing, and in younger patients, the results are better. About the sex, no important influence was observed.
