Abstract:
A retrospective review of five years, of 92 patients who probably had inhaled foreign bodies (13D) was undertaken, with the peak incidence of F13 inhalation occurring between 1 and 2 years of age (46,4%). About 38,2% of the removed foreign bodies were organic, 42,1% were no organic and 26,3% were not specified in origin. The majority of the foreign bodies were most often found in the right bronchial tree (40,8%). A single endoscopy procedure successfully removed the foreign bodies in all the patients. The mortality rate of 1,1%, and in one child tracheostomy was needed.
