Abstract:
Condrosarcoma is a malignant bone tumor rarely encountered in the head and neck the larynx is the most common head and neck site, followed by nasal cavity and paranasal sinuses.
The usual presenting symptom in the nasal cavity and paranasal sinus tumors is nasal obstruction. The real extension of the is revealed by computerized tomographic scanning. Complete surgical resection is the mainstay of the therapy. Chemotherapy and radiotherapy can be used in recurrence and unresectable tumors.
The prognosis for this tumor is related to three factors: tumor site, tumor grade and tumor resectability. Local recurrence is frequent and melastasis can appear long term after the initial diagnosis.
This study presents two patients with nasal cavity eondrosarcoma and the relation of the tumor histological grade with the distinct evolution of these patients.
