Inverted papilloma.

Abstract:
Inverted papilloma is a benign tumor with a tendency to malignant degeneracy. Treatment is always surgical. Literature recommends the lateral rhinotomy which has the lowes2 recurrent rate.
Between 1980 and 1991, 8 patients with inverting papilloma of fie nasal cavity were treated at Hospital das Clínicas da Faculdade de Medicina da Universidade de São Paulo. This paper shows that Caldwell-Luc constitutes a satisfactory route of access for the treatment of these tumors.
