Parapharyngeal Space Tumors: Diagnostic, Prognostic and Treatment.

Abstract:
The lesions of the parapharyngeal Space are rare and the four most commonly found are lesions of the deep lobe of the parotid gland, lesion of the minor salivary glands, neuromas and glomic tumors. The parapharyngeal Space is a potetial Space, shaped like an inverted piramid with it's floor at the skull base and it's apex at the level of the greater core of the hyod bone. The most important complementary tests are: fine meadle aspiration biopsy, computed tomography, ressonance magnetic image and arteriography. Nine typical cases are discussed.
