Ear Symptons Related to Tinnitus in Otological and Temporomandibular Joint Disorders.

Abstract:
The objetive of research was to compare the caracteristic of tinnitus of patients with temporomandibular disorders (DTM group) and patients with otoneurologic diseases (HC group). Sixty patients, 30 of each group, were submited to questionnaire, otorhinolaringologic and audiologic evaluation. There were differences between the groups, how the loudness, how to the mean complaint and the audiologic result. In HC group, the tinnitus was loud and continuous, the mean complaint were deafness and deficit to understand words and the audiologic tests were decay. In DTM group, the tinnitus was moderate and sporadic, mean complaints were otalgia and fullness without decay audiologic tests. These difference between groups, they allow us to caracterize each group, they help us in the diagnostic.
