Abstract: The parapharyngeal space is a potential region, shaped like an invertdd piramid, located deep in the neck. The tumors of the parapharyngeal space are rare, and more than 70% of these massas are benign. The most frequent tumors are, respectively, of the major and minor salivary glands, neurogenic, paragangliomas, lymphomas and miscellaneous. In this last group the redundant internal carotid artery is found. It is a lesíon uncommon of that space and about which we report a case. The tumors of parapharyngeal region have similars and nonspecifics clinical manifestations. Computed tomography and ressonante magnetic image are the diagnostic methocis of choice for that tumors.
