Abstract: An analysis of 22 patients with sguamous cell carciomas of the supraglotic larynx treated between 1978 and 1988 with Supraglotic Partial Laryngectomy is presented. Twelve pacients had base tongue or valecula tumors and ten patients had Supraglottic tumors. The small number of patients in our series precludes statistically significant analysis of our results, never the less certain co n clusions regarding the treatment are apparent. In our series 48, 0% had stage IV, indicating that our results were not based by selecting only patients with favorable lesions. The five-year disease free survival was 71,4% in patients with lymph node metastasis against 22,8% in patients with out lymph node metastasis. Considering the prymary site, the five-year disease free survival was betterfor laryngeal tumors (83, 0%), then to base of tongue and valécula tumors (16,6%). The five-year disease free survival was 48,8% and the global five-year survival was 54,8%.
