Swallowing Disorder in a Newborn with Submucous Cleft Palate.

Abstract: In this paper, we describe a case of a new born thatpresenied to our department with recurrent pneumonia dueto aspiration. Direct exammation of the palate and nasofíbroscopy showed the presente of submucous cleftpalate. With this diagnosis the patient was treated with fonotherapy. We present this case to alert otorylaryngologists and pediatricians to investigate submucous cleftpalate in patients with recurrent pneumonia.
