Abstract: The authors present one clínical case of ankylosis of temporomandibular joint in a 6 years old girl. The ankylosis was due to acute otitis media, with evolution to meningtis and mastoiditis of iemporomandibular joint, leading to total and unilateral ankylosis. In this disease, the diagnosis must be prompt, in order to avoid complications, such as facial assymetry, dental cavities and difficulties during feeding. Diagnostic methods and surgical treatment are presented.
