Abstract: Sensorineural hearing loss in HIV positive pacients can be sudden or progressive and is attributed to primary viral involvement of the acoustic nerve or to opportunistic infections of the Nervous Central System (NCS) that affect these patients in an advanced phase of immunodeficiency. We present a case of Sudden Hearing Loss as first clinic manifestation of Acquired immunodeficiency Syndrome (AIDS) and first manifestation of NCS Toxoplasmosis. Our goal is to call attention to sudden sensorineural hearing loss as the first symptom of AIDS with Nervous Central System infection allowing early diagnoses and treatment and making possible the increase of survival in these patients.
