Abstract: Vestibular rehabilitation is an option for the treatment of vestibular disorder patients. A rehabilitation method based on exercises has proved an effective way of making CNS stabilization easier for vestibular disorder patients. The subjective improvements shown by patients treated by this method are a result of the CNS action, not always the recovery of the peripheral pathology involved. Basically, the vestibular rehabilitation includes: 1. global relaxation exercises; 2. visual exercises of lateralization and pursuit of moving objetos; 3. exercises of stimulation of conscience of body scheme; 4. stimulation of the vestibular system through head moviments such as lateralization, rotation and flection as though body moviments. The authors present a review of the literature, their experience and the advantages of this treatment, demonstrating the details of this technique and encouraging results in spite of the low casuistry.
