The use of Halothane as Anesthesic in the Early Electric Auditive Potencials exams (ECOG and BERA)

Abstract: The authors related their experience in the use of Halothane as general anesthesia, performed ipi 1712 electrical auditive potentials exams (ECOG and BERA), in children between 45 days and 14years of age. Actually, Halothane reveled the adequate anesthesic agent because of his easy pre-anesthetic preparation, easy administration, do not perform changes on the electrical auditives potential waves, rapid and smooth action, as well, produces analgesia and amnesia. The patients present short recuperation period. It was not noted any side effects. They conclude that Halothane fulfill the necessary requirements for the use of general anesthesia in out patients, specially in auditive potentials exams, in this age group.
