Abstract: Many diferent etiologies had been attributed to Sudden Deafness, some of them not completely clear. The authors report a case of a young, female with history of sudden deafness affecting one side only who had used injecting progesterone contraceptive. Even without any change of symptoms during hospitalization, she lately cleared all the symptoms of hearing loss after stopping the use of contraceptive. The authors agree that hormone changes can explain the occurrence of sudden deafness in this patient.
