Abstract: Voice disorders is not an uncommon symptom in children. The most of epidemiological studies relate prevalence between 6 and 9% of dysphonia and articulatory disturbances in childhood. The etiologies are very different, varying from alteration of the function of the fonoarticulatory organs, to disable lesions with life-threatening. The authors discuss the main causes of dysphonia among children and adolescents, emphasizing the more important aspects of its diagnostic and treatment.
