Abstract: Hemangiopericytoma is a rare vascular tumor, representing 1 per cent of all vasoformative tumors. Since 1942, about 100 cases have been relates, and 25% of them occur in the head and neck particularly in soft tissue of the scalp, face and neck. The origin in nasal and paranasal cavities is less common. It can occur in all ages and the sexual incidence is the same. The clinical manifestations depend on the tumor size and site. Nasal obstruction and epistaxis are the most common symptoms of the nasal tumors. The diagnosis is possible only with histologic analysis, but sometimes is very difficult The differential diagnosis is large. The surgical resection is the best treatment. The adjuvant radiotherapy and chemotherapy do not get the surgical results better. The sinonasal hemangiopericytoma recurrence rate is 25%, and less than 5% has tendency for metastasis. The present paper reports a case studied at the Otolaryngology Departament of the University of São Paulo School of Medicine.
