Abstract: The authors describe an instrument for the direct measurement of the slow phase of angular velocity of the nystagmus on the record. The advantage of using this instrument is due to the time saved by the direct reading of the nystagmus slow-phase angular velocity, without the necessity of using graphic methods. The method is particulary useful when the record paper used is blank or rather, not in graphform. The instrument was developed by ourselves some years ago. It has been used since then in our clinical routins, although specifications have not been published yet.
