Abstract: Dermoid cysts of the floor of the mouth are rare findings. King (1994) identifies 198 case reports of these cysts which histology were: 108 of them were dermoid cyst, 32 of them were epidermoid cyst and 7 of them were teratoma. Authors describe the case of a 15 year old mate who presented with a large cystic mass in the floor of the mouth and a swelling in the submental space. The mass was excised by an intra-oral approach and histopathology diagnosis was epidermoid cyst. This paper discuss origin, classification, location and surgical treatment of these cysts.
