Study of Enlarged Adenoids: Endoscopy versus Radiography of the Nasophrynx.

Abstract: Intoduction: The authors discuss the diagnostic evaluation of enlarged adenoids comparing the radiological exam of nasopharynx with nasal endoscopy. Material and methods: The study was conducted in a group of 100 patients between 2 (two) and 10(ten) years-oldpresenting nasal obstruction but no rhinitis or sinusal disease. Radiological exam of nasopharynx was analysed based on Cohen and Konak method1 and the nasal endoscopy was interpreted according to the method described for Wormald and cols.2 and modified by the authors. Results: Results Nave been statisticaly analysed and showed equality between the methods. Nasal endoscopy has proven to be a superior method for its objectiviness and simplicity in performing.
