Abstract: Snoring is a common disorder and may be associated with obstructive sleep apnea. Since the end of 1980, the CO2, laser is being used in the treatment of snoring and mild obstructive sleep apnea as LAUP(Laser Assisted Uvulopalatoplasty), to enlarge the oropharyngeal airway by reshaping the uvula, soft palate and tonsillar pilars. The authors present the experience in 131 patients treated by office LAUP with an overall of 96% improvement rate of snoring and daytime somnolence and very low complication rates.
