Abstract: This work shows the characterization of the hearing loss due to maternal fetal rubella found in 100 ears of 50 children with ages among 6 months and 10 years old. The Brainstem Electric Responses Audiometry was used to check the auditive responses to the stimulus with click and with tone pip of 1000Hz. The most frequent type of hearing loss was the sensorial. The most frequent grade of hearing loss was lhe profound. Most of the time the hearing losses were symmetric, chiefly when one of the sides showed a profound degree of hearing loss. The responses to the click and to the tone pip of 1000 Hz were the same most of the time though in some cases in wich no response was gotten with the click we got a response with the tone pip of 1000 Hz.
