Abstract: The authors have studied 80 patients with idiophatic facial paralisys assisted at Hospital das Clínicas da Faculdade de Medicina da Universidade de São Paulo. The patients were divided into 2 groups: 40 were submitted to miofunctional exercises, while 40 were not, comprising the control group. Comparing the 2 groups each other and the literature, the authors have confirmed that miofunctional exercises have speeded up the idiophatic facial paralisia recovery.
