Abstract: In the last 15 years, 1497 infants and children were submitted to an objective hearing evaluation by means of auditory evoked potentials, Electrococlaleography and Auditory Brain-stem Response (ECoG and ABR). The aim of this paper is the identification of the risk group of hearing deficiencies and the role of evoked auditory potentials as an early detection method, essential for starting both medical and educational intervention, in order to optimize the child's communication development and social abilities.
