Abstract: 20 pacients presenting 24 fractures of mandible were treated by rigid internal fixation, with plates and screws, without maxilo-mandibular immobolization. No case of non union or maloclusion were noted. The infection rate was 8,3%, the mean time of surgery was 94 minutes and the mean period of hospitalization was 3, 65 days.
