Keywords: HPV, DNA

Abstract: The development and utilization of DNA hybridization techniques has made possible the detection and identification of several types and subtypes of viruses which are associated with various clinical conditions. This article reviews the results obtained by using these techniques in diseases affecting the oral cavity (Oral Leukoplakia, Squamous Cell Papilloma, Verruca Vulgaris, Focal Epithelial Hyperplasia, Keratoacanthoma), nasopharinx (Papillomas), and larynx (Ca of the Larynx, Recurrent Respiratory Papillomatosis).
