Perilymphatic Hypertension: Review and Case Report.

Abstract: Patients with perilymphatic hypertension may present progressive hearing loos and tinnitus. It is also possible to occur reccurent meningitis; sudden deafness aftermath a perilymphatic fistula; or gusher during a surgery when the stapes footplate is punctured or removed4, 11, 12. A women, 36 years old, was submitted to a stapedectomy for otosclerosis treatment, when occured gusher (otoliquorrhea). The perilymphatic hypertension was, controladd and it w as possible to implant the prosthesis. The surgery result was good, there was a auditiv increment around 30 d13 in the right ear operated. lt was done a polytomography study but it didn't demonstrat any annormality. Deeects in the modiolus, abnormal cochlear aqueducts or dilatation of the internal auditory meatus shuld be investigated2, 14.
