The Risks to Hearing in Leisure - The Noise of Live Pop Music Bands.

Abstract: This study was made in Recife, during a cultural event held in october 1995, with participation of 37 pop music bands on the streets. To identify the risks of three groups exposed to the noise, we used four sound level meter. The results obtained show different risks of hearing to people, and musicians who followed the bands, those who watched the bands in reserved seats and those who habitted the apartments situated aside, according the sound press levels recorded and the intension of giving a basis to standardization of this kind of event in relation to the control of the noise produced by the bands.
