Abstract: The authors present a case of neurinoma of the facial nerve which envolved the tympanic, vertical segments of the Fallopian canal and reached the stylomastoid foramen to appear as a parotid gland tumor. The neurinoma gradually invaded the middle ear and the external canal, causing a conductive hearing loss and bulging of the tympanic membrane. The pacient was underwent to the mastoidectorny and a external approach to remove the extratemporal tumor. The neurinoma was completely removed and the facial nerve was restored with an autonerve graft, from the greater auricular nerve. |
