Abstract: Necrotizing fasciitis is caracterized as the tissue's destruction and necrosis. It begins on the superficial cervical fascia when it attacks the neck. The occurrence of this pathology on the cervical region is rare, being even more difficult to be found in children. It has bed prognosis and difficult control, resulting in a high mortality. This is the reason for the report of this case of cervical necrotizing fasciitis that affected a 2 years old child, with no apparent predisposing factor. The authors also show the clinical and surgical treatment and make a brief review of the literature about this subject.
