Profile Audiologic in Workers of Industry if Furniture and Mattresses, in Teresina

Abstract: Purpose: This work has the objective of knowing the situation of auditory health of these exposed workers to superior noise to 85 dB (A), eight hours a day, regularly, in the work atmosphere. Material and Method: The work was accomplished with 50 employees of the masculine sex, in the age group between 20 and 58 years, of the section of joinery of a Industry of furniture and mattresses in Teresina-PI. After the application of a questioning of easy understanding, of short and clear answers, with the purpose of obtaining clinical and occupational data, but also information about the habits related to leisure involving hearing, na audiometric testing was done inside a sound proof booth after an otoscopy to investigate abnormalities that could, in some way, after the results of the exam. Results: 18 (36,0%) of the studied workers they presented alterations in the audiograms. Being seven (14,0%) light losses in isolate, l frequencies and 11 (22,0%) moderated Tosses of the type sensorineural, of the which six (12,0%) with evident characteristics of occupational NIHL.
