Abstract: The structures of the middle ear and temporal bone are frequently involved in head traumas. High impact traumas may cause fracture to the temporal bone. Fortunately, a fracture of the temporal bone does rarelly result in low head traumas. The present case shows a mastoid fracture resulted from a fall and presented a cervical subcutaneos emphysema as the only symptom which spontaneously disappeared in few days. The authors aim to call attention to the rarity of this case as a complication of temporal bone fracture, inspite of its benign evolution. Cervical subcutaneous emphysema following temporal bone fracture is unsual and still not reported in the world literature.
