Abstract: The purpose of this study was investigate the effects of contralateral noise on distortion Product otoacustic amplitude in elderly and the importance in clinical application. This study included 15 elderly with age ranged from 61 to 80. Ninety per cent of the tested ears present DPOAEs in high frequencies (ranged of 2 through 4 KHz). lt occured in ali subjects. We observed 100% amplitude alteration with noise. We concluded that DPOAEs with contralateral noise could be done safely and rapidly for cochear function assessment and might be used for eferent auditory sistem research even in elderly patients.
